I had just sat down on my bed after a long day and a great, very hot, 4:30pm workout. I turned on my computer and WOW….is that an email telling ME that I’ve been nominated for the Spotlight Athlete? I had to read the email several times before it sunk in! I am so excited and very honored. As so many before me have said, how do you write your own testimony?
For most of my adult life, I have worked out. Sometimes it was with great dedication and sometimes it was just going through the motions so I could say I worked out, but there have been years of working out. Running, Step Aerobics, Body Pump…the list goes on.
Several things have happened in the past few years that distracted me and caused my exercise routine to take a backseat. I had been a single mom for many years raising my three sons. After the last one left for college, I was ready to start dating and went on Match.com where I met a man, and that’s where the trouble started. As we started dating, we also started eating and drinking, not exercising like we used to, and needless to say, we put on some “happy weight”. By the way, we got married in March and are very happy! I also turned 50 during all of this and it is so true what they say…staying in shape and keeping your weight in check DOES get harder. Last summer I decided I needed to re-vamp my exercise routine if I wanted to stay fit and healthy and that is when I found Amazen Boot Camp. I have been hooked for a year now. Just the other day I was telling my college roommate about boot camp. I was explaining to her that not only is Boot Camp a way to stay fit physically, but even more than that, it is empowering and makes me feel strong. I absolutely love that we pray before each work out.
Occasionally, while I’m working out, I think to myself “Look at me. I’m 52 years old and I am jumping up on that box and I’m deadlifting 95 pounds” (Thanks Tommy)! How great is that!
I LOVE Amazen Boot Camp and am so proud to be a part of this wonderful gym. Robin
